ZOVIRAX Duo 50 mg/10 mg/g cream, 2 g
Zovirax Duo 50 mg / 10 mg / g.
Zovirax Duo contains two active ingredients: acyclovir and hydrocortisone. Acyclovir is an antiviral that helps fight the herpes virus. Hydrocortisone is a mild steroid that reduces inflammation associated with herpes.
Zovirax Duo Cream is used to treat the early signs and symptoms of herpes on the lips and around the skin (such as tingling, itching, or redness) in adults and adolescents (12 years and older) to reduce the chances of herpes turning into blisters.
Even if the inflammation transforms into a blister, Zovirax Duo shortens the healing time by about half a day or a day compared to using a cream without the active ingredient.
Herpes is caused by a virus called herpes simplex. The virus causes blisters and sores, mainly on the lips, but sometimes on other parts of the face. Herpes can occur when the body's immune system is weakened, such as with a cold or other infection. Stress, intense sunlight, cold temperatures, or menstruation can also contribute to herpes.
