Acetocaustin is a preparation for the treatment of warts. 

Acetocaustin is used to cauterize common warts (Verrucae vulgares).

Special precautions for children:

Acetocaustin contains the strongly caustic active substance monochloroacetic acid. Owing to its toxic (i.e. poisonous) properties, its effects can be fatal if completely swallowed by children – especially small children weighing less than 15 kilograms. Users are urgently warned to keep the product out of reach of children, especially of small children. Make sure that there is no possibility that children will come into contact with Acetocaustin above and beyond its intended use. Only a doctor may use Acetocaustin in children under 6 years of age. In older children, an adult must apply the solution.
