The active ingredient in Bepanthen cream is dexpanthenol, which is incorporated into a fast absorbing, low oil content emulsion. In skin cells, dexpanthenol is rapidly converted to pantothenic acid. Pantothenic acid is involved in both skin formation and rejuvenation. Bepanten cream is used to care for dry, rough and cracked skin; for the treatment of minor skin lesions such as burns, abrasions, skin irritation, diaper rash, chronic ulcers or pressure sores, tearing of the skin in the anus, etc., to protect the mammary glands of nursing mothers, soggy or cracked nipples.
