ellaOne is an emergency contraceptive.
ellaOne is a contraceptive designed to prevent fertilization after unprotected sex or unsuccessful contraception.
For example:
if you had unprotected sex;
if your partner's condom broke or slipped off, or if he forgot to use one;
if you forgot to take your birth control pill on schedule.
ellaOne should be taken as soon as possible after intercourse, within 5 days (120 hours) at the latest. This is because sperm can remain alive in the body for up to 5 days.
ellaOne is suitable for all women of reproductive age, including teenagers. ellaOne can be taken at any time during the menstrual cycle.
ellaOne does not work if you are already pregnant.
