The active ingredient in Lioton 1000 IU/g gel is heparin (in the form of sodium heparin). Lioton is available as a gel for topical use. When applied to affected areas, heparin prevents blood clots in superficial veins, improves local microcirculation, and reduces swelling.
Therapeutic indications: Treatment of superficial vein diseases, such as varicose veins and their complications, phlebothrombosis, thrombophlebitis, superficial periphlebitis, and varicose ulcers. Postoperative varicose phlebitis and consequences of saphenectomy. Injuries and contusions, localized edema and infiltrates, subcutaneous hemorrhages. Traumatic injuries to muscles, tendons, joint capsules, and ligaments.
