Onytec contains the active ingredient ciclopirox, which belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. It kills many types of fungi that cause nail infections.
Onytec is used to treat mild to moderate fungal infections in adults that do not affect the base of the nail / socket (the light crescent-shaped part at the root of the nail). The usual duration of toenail treatment is about 6 months and 12 months for toenails.
If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 1 month for toenails and after 2 months for toenails, you should consult your doctor.
